Wire was cut from three transistors at the station, across from Blue Run Road, causing the power outage for about six to eight hours sometime early Saturday morning.
The report stated calls were made to local hospitals to see if anyone had come in with any type of burn injuries, but none had been admitted.
The copper's value was listed at $100. The theft still is under investigation.
New Boston sets conferences
Stanton Primary, Oak Intermediate and Glenwood High schools in New Boston will have parent/teacher conferences April 17.
Teachers at Stanton Primary will be available from 3:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. for conferences; Oak Intermediate teachers will be available from 2:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. for conferences; and Glenwood High School teachers will be available from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for conferences.
There will be no school for students April 18. Classes resume April 21.
Redbud Run is Saturday
Area volunteers will host the "Redbud Run" Motorcycle Rid to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lewis County, Ky. The annual event is designed to raise funds to help continue programs that reinforce positive decision making, teach health and life skills, promote higher education and encourage creativity for at-risk youth.
Riders will complete a 140-mile route, which will be followed up with dinner and festivities. Preride entertainment will be presented by Mike Nida.
The Boys and Girls Clubs provide daily afterschool and summer programming for children between the ages of 6 and 18. The Boys and Girls Clubs strive to provide a safe, positive and fun environment focused on enrichment activities in arts, education, sports, leadership development and health, including a free, daily hot meal. Club membership is free with a completed application.
The ride Saturday will begin at Clarksburg Christian Church, located at the junction of AA Highway and Ky. 3037, in Vanceburg, Ky. Registration will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and opening exercises will be at 10:45 a.m. The rain date will be April 19.
