Christopher Martin Jr. is charged with trafficking in drugs, Chris Martin Sr., with complicity to drug trafficking, and Paula Martin, also is charged with complicity to drug trafficking.
Lawrence County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jeff Lawless said he had received complaints from several individuals of what appeared to be drug activity at the residence of Chris and Paula Martin at 1524 South Fourth St., in Ironton. The task force, which consists of law enforcement officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Prosecuting Attorney J.B. Collier's Office, and the Ironton Police Department then executed a search warrant at that address.
"As a result of our investigation, we were able to obtain enough evidence to obtain a search warrant of the residence," Lawless said.
Lawless said at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers arrived at the residence and found Chris Martin Sr., his wife, Paula Martin, a son, Christopher L. Martin Jr., and a female juvenile at the residence.
Lawless said a search of the residence was conducted, resulting in the discovery of marijuana, cocaine, cash, several articles of drug paraphernalia, and a stolen firearm.
"The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office actively pursues illegal drug activity throughout this county," Lawless said. "We are diligent in our efforts to rid our communities of drugs and to make our county safe for all citizens."
Lawless said the investigation will continue and all findings will be referred to the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office.
