Christopher Duncan Baxter, 41, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 12, 1967, in Portsmouth, a son of Sharon Kallas Baxter Kuhn of Portsmouth, and Dale Baxter.

He also is survived by his wife, Candace Renee Bauer Baxter, whom he married Nov. 25, 1989, in Portsmouth; two daughters, Christine Baxter of Portsmouth, and Tiffany Gallaher of Florida; one son, Nicolas Baxter of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Christopher and Marguerite Kallas, and Duncan and Ruth Baxter.

Chris was a personal trainer, a member of the International Power Lifting Associations, and a 1986 Portsmouth High School graduate.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, with Sam Salyers officiating. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
