Jaycees plans Easter egg hunt
Portsmouth Area Jaycees announces its annual Easter egg hunt at Mound Park, rain or shine. Glori Holsinger, chairwoman of the event, has announced a noon start time Saturday for the hunt.
The event is open to children ages 1 to 12. Because of the popularity of this event, participants will want to arrive early. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available. Prizes and candy will be part of the hunt. There also will be coloring books and fun for the whole family.
Greenbo plans egg hunt
Easter egg hunt for boys and girls 12 years old and younger will begin at 1:30 Sunday, in the amphitheater at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, 965 Lodge Road, Greenup, Ky. More than 1,000 Easter eggs will be hidden. Three lucky eggs that are worth an Easter basket will be hidden. There will be an appearance by the Easter Bunny. For information, call (800) 325-0083.
Veteran's poster deadline is Friday
Deadline for the Veterans Helping Veterans Others poster contest is Friday. The purpose of the contest is to make everyone aware of the homeless, needy veterans and others that are in need in the area.
The theme is "Veterans and Civilians Hand in Hand in America." Posters must be 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Each poster should include on the back of the poster, name, address, phone number, school, age, grade and school phone number. All posters and reports must be turned in Friday to one's school, or can be mailed to: V.H.V.O. or mailed to V.H.V.O. Poster Contest, 502 Short St., West Portsmouth, OH 45662.
