PDT Staff Report

Officers of the Portsmouth Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Scioto County Common Pleas Court Probation Office responded March 10 to 5607 Fifth St., Sciotoville, to search for Steven Meadows, who was in violation of his probation.

According to a police department report, Meadows was living there with his girlfriend, Tammy Brown, and they were selling oxycodone. When officers arrived, they found Meadows and Brown, and arrested Meadows on a probation violation.

The report said Brown consented to a search of her residence for drugs, and during the search, officers found empty pill bottles where Brown had gone to a doctor's office in Florida and Ohio during the past 30 days and received 9,750 mg of oxycodone. All of Brown's pills were gone, the report said.

While officers were at the residence, Paul and Danielle Darnell arrived. Paul had a metal container with 24 oxycodone tablets (30mg each) and Danielle had a small container with five oxycodone tablets (30mg each). Paul was advised of his Miranda warning, and said he had come to deliver oxycodone to Meadows and Brown, the report said.

Paul said Danielle didn't have anything to do with drugs. He was found to have a warrant from Portsmouth Municipal Court for failure to appear, and was arrested for the warrant and trafficking drugs in the vicinity of a school (East High School).

Brown was charged in trafficking drugs. She was taken to Scioto County Jail, as were Meadows and Paul Darnell.
