COLUMBUS - Players who proved their worth during the season - and now during the tournament - are the marquee names on the 2008 Associated Press Division III and IV All-Ohio girls basketball teams announced Tuesday.

South Euclid Regina's Shay Selby is the player of the year in Division III, with Columbus Africentric's Tyeasha Moss repeating in Division IV.

South Webster's Kayla Cook headed the list of local players making the All-Ohio first team in Division IV.

Cook is a sophomore who averaged 18.5 points per game and scored her 1,000th point this season while leading South Webster to a 20-0 regular season record.

Kayla Wiley of New Boston earned a spot on the Division IV third team and Ironton's Jessica Waddle made first team in Division III.

The player awards and the teams were selected based on the recommendations of a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters.
