Kathleen Stamper, 92, of Portsmouth, died Feb. 29, 2008, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

She was born July 2, 1915, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late John Jenkins and Maude Morris Jenkins.

Kathleen was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.

Kathleen recently resided at Best Care of Wheelersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Stamper, and two sisters, Madelyn Doyle and Lillian Hartle.

Kathleen is survived by two sons, Donald R. Stamper of Portsmouth, and Jerry Stamper (Donna) of Wheelersburg. She also is survived by one brother, Richard Jenkins of Wheelersburg; five grandchildren, Tami Pinson (Jeff), Julie Stamper, Scott Stamper (Amy), Terry Stamper (Jenny), and John Stamper (Amy); 10 great-grandchildren, Jeff Pinson (Nicola), Nathaniel Pinson (Wendy), Cassie Patten (Jason), Aaron Pinson, John Stamper Jr., Jarrett Stamper, Brayden Stamper, Lauren Stamper, Grant Stamper and Riley Stamper; one great-great-granddaughter, Zalen Pinson; niece, Barbara Doyle; as well as many other beloved nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Kathleen will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth, with Pastor John Gowdy officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be at Daehler
