Alletha M. Workman, 96, of Gainesville, Ga., a former Chillicothe area resident, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, in Gainesville, Ga.

Born July 22, 1911, in Scioto County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert and Ella D. Poole Warren, she was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Pat Workman of Hayesville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Douglas Dwain (Patty) Workman of Cleveland, Ga., Bryon Joseph (Stephanie) Workman of Cleveland, Ga., and Daniel Warren (Robin) Workman of Hayesville, N.C.; four great grandchildren, Colten Workman, Devyn Workman, Cody Workman and Josie Workman; one sister, Vera Warren of Canal Winchester; and one brother-in-law, George King of Minford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Workman, on Dec. 2, 1988, whom she married in 1935; one son, Dwain D. Workman; three sisters, Cariel Howerton, Fayita Shoemaker and Rita King; and three brothers, Foster Warren in infancy, Lt. Lewis Warren and Dr. Curtis Warren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Brandon Lee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home.
