Man dies in tractor crash

A man died Saturday after the tractor he was operating was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 52.

According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Richard Raymond Anderson, 44, of Cloverdale, was killed Saturday, after the tractor he was driving was struck by a car near the eight mile marker going eastbound on U.S. 52. He was ejected from the tractor after impact.

Anderson was a design engineer with Unverferth Manufacturing Company in Kalida.

The driver of the car was Donna Conley. She received minor injuries and was treated and released from an area hospital.

Surviving Anderson is his mother Helen Clifton Anderson, of the Friendship of the Friendship area; a brother, Kenneth (Vanda) Vaughters of Erie, Colo.; a sister, Janet (Otto) Benner of Beaver; and two nieces and three nephews. Services will be on Friday at Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

The accident is being investigated by OSHP.
