“A run is basically like a parade,” said “Hawkeye,” Portsmouth Motorcycle Club vice president. “We bring in an antique fire truck, fill it full of toys, and it leads the bikes as we ride toward the Salvation Army.”
A stop will be made to pick up donations collected at Borderline State Shop on Chillicothe Street. All toys will go to the Salvation Army location for distribution, and all cash donations will be forwarded to the local homeless shelter, according to the club.
“The annual toy run goes along with raising money and toys for kids for Christmas,” Hawkeye said. “When we rang the bells with Bikers for Charity, 100 percent of the donations were split between the New Boston Police Station and Portsmouth Police Department.”
A breakfast will be available as everyone begins to gather from 10 a.m. until the ride begins. Participants are encouraged to register from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and bring a $10 toy or $10 cash contribution.
