Yolanda M. Temper, 83, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Heartland of Portsmouth.

A native of New Boston, she was born Dec. 25, 1923, to the late Salvatore Venturino and Caterina Tallarico Venturino.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a former employee of Selby Shoe Company and during the 1950s, she, along with her late husband, Andrew Temper, owned and operated Temper's Market in Sciotoville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, on Oct. 17, 1999.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Temper of Portsmouth; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Gilbert Venturino, Anthony Venturino, Joseph Venturino and Samuel Venturino; and four sisters, Theresa Pasquale, Helena Howell, Mary Davis and Esther Dicus.

Memorial services will take place at noon Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Ted Machnik officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
