Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said Kristina M. Adams, 33, of Portsmouth, was stopped at the intersection of Argonne Road and Clare Street in Portsmouth for driving left of center. Shend eventually was arrested for possession of schedule 3 narcotics, operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to wear a safety belt and driving under suspension.
When troopers pulled Adams over it was determined she was driving while impaired, driving under suspension, and was not wearing her safety belt.
Troopers said an additional investigation revealed that she was wanted by the Scioto County Sheriff's Office on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with court orders related to a previous domestic violence charge.
Adams was placed into custody, and a search led to the discovery of crack cocaine, as well as a number of schedule 3 drugs for which troopers said she had no prescription in her possession.
Adams was arrested and incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail, and appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court Friday morning.
Adams signed her own bond on all charges, but remains in jail on a probation violation holder.
