William Lloyd Lutz, 94, of New Castle, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Lucasville, Ohio, a son of the late Henry and Florence Hines Lutz.

He also was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine D. Dodds Lutz, Dec. 20, 2004; one son, Stephen L. Lutz; brothers, Sam, Albert and Joe Lutz; and sisters, Mabel Nance, Edith Miller and Hazel Garrett.

Lloyd was a retired head mechanic for Bethlehem Steel in New Castle, Del., and a 1931 Valley High School graduate.

He is survived by one daughter, Ann F. (Andrew T.) Bose of New Castle, Del.; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Joseph) Spence of Wilmington, Del., Rachel (Jason) Friel and Michael Lutz, both of New Castle, Del.; four great-grandchildren, Maxine Spence, Thomas John Spence, Josephine Spence and Jason Friel Jr.

Graveside services will take place 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Lucasville Cemetery, with Andy Ramey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
