Detective Toby Gardner, of the Kentucky State Police Morehead post, said KSP received a call from Morehead Police Department advising of an accident about five miles out of Morehead on Ky. 519.
A 2004 Chevrolet pickup was traveling southbound when the vehicle dropped off the southbound shoulder, then went across the center line and overturned over an embankment, coming to rest in a field near the eastbound shoulder.
KSP reports they are unclear as to who was the operator of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Other law enforcement officials involved in the investigation included troopers Keith Howard, David Zimmerman, Chris Jones and Sgt. Rob Conn, and Rowan County sheriff's deputy James Dameron. Also involved at the scene were Northcutt, and members of the Rowan EMS and Morehead Fire Department.
Gardner said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, but the accident remains under investigation.
