“It's definitely a problem here,” she said. “Just in Portsmouth Municipal Court alone, we've helped about 350 victims go through the legal process this year. And there have been about 100 in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.”
In order to raise awareness of domestic violence, Hoffer and co-chair Yvonne Lyon want to add personal information to a quilt containing the pictures of what the task force say are dead domestic violence victims.
The quilt will be on display at the Scioto County Courthouse on Sixth Street as October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The task force will have a candlelight vigil at the courthouse on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. The vigil is open to the public.
Hoffer and Lyon are looking for personal information on the following victims:
