Louise M. Clark, 28, 1422 Miller Ave., in Columbus, is facing drug charges after being arrested Saturday by Portsmouth police.

Officer Michael Hamilton said he was following a car in the 5600 block of U.S. 52, eastbound, when he clocked the car at 65 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.

Hamilton ran the license plate and found out the owner of the vehicle was listed as Irisaca Brantford, who, according to the report, under an FRA (Financial Responsibility Act) suspension.

Police pulled the car over and found Clark was driving the vehicle and Brantford was sitting in the passengers seat.

Dexter Tye was in the back seat along with Niyatii Winters.

When officers were given permission to search the vehicle, they found a small plastic bag containing numerous brown colored rocks, and suspected it to be heroin.

After reading their Miranda Rights, the police report says Clark told officers, “It is mine. It is heroin, but it is just personal use. I have to take it or I will get sick. I am hooked on Oxycontin, and I take the heroin to keep for getting sick.”

Police say Clark told them she paid $80 for the heroin, which did field test positive, according to police.

Clark was taken to the Scioto County jail.
