Detectives from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office arrested a Rosemount man on Wednesday in connection with a reported rape.
Sheriff Marty Donini said that the sheriff's office received a report from a Rosemount resident on Sept. 6, stating her daughter had been sexually assaulted multiple times throughout the last several years. Detectives were assign-ed the report and started the investigation. After learning about possible off-enses occurring in Jackson County as well, the detectives contacted the Jack-son County Sheriff's Office requesting assistance.
The investigation led to the arrest of Christopher McCleese, 30, of Rose-mount, on Wednesday.
McCleese was charged with one count of rape - a first-degree felony - and was being held in Scioto Coun-ty Jail on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court, and detectives said more charges will be presented to Scioto County Common Pleas Grand Jury at a later date.
McCleese also faces additional char-ges from Jackson County authorities, the Scioto County Sheriff's Office said.
