The Scioto County Drug Task Force continued to go after illegal drug activity in the area Thursday night, confiscating drugs, cash and guns, and making an arrest at a Portsmouth area house.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said law officers from the task force executed a search warrant at the residence of Roy D. King, 44, of 717 Swauger Valley Road.

Donini said during the search, officers seized 40 OxyContin 80-milligram pills, approximately $1,000 cash and several firearms.

King was arrested and charged with possession of OxyContin, a felony of the second degree, placed in Scioto County Jail and held on $15,000 bond.

King was arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court at 10 a.m. Friday.

Donini said the case against King will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor's Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for consideration of additional criminal charges.

Donini said anyone wishing to leave drug information may do so by contacting the Scioto County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit at (740) 351-1094. Donini said all information would be kept confidential and anonymous.
