He was born Nov. 3, 1918, in South Webster, a son of Orange Ray Murphy and Clara Pollock Murphy. He was a retired maintenance worker for Ford Motor Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Murphy; and a sister, Fern Stroth. Paul is survived by his wife, Margaret McGuire Murphy; sons, Paul Murphy, of Mount Clemons, William Fields, of Portsmouth, and Harlan Fields, of Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; daughters, Rhonda Merlin, of Jacksonville, Fla., Trina Tokoly, of Ferndale, Mich., Khristy Mishoe, of East Point, and Mary Lou Hennis, of Antwerp; a sister, Dorothy Jean Skeens, of Scioto Furnace; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster at 2 p.m. Thursday, with burial at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
