Traffic delays are possible
With operations for a bridge repair project on Ohio 348 and the Scioto County Fair under way, motorists are advised of possible periods of delay at the route's junction with U.S. 23 at Lucasville.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are rehabilitating a bridge located at the 18.04-mile marker on Ohio 348, just west of the junction with U.S. 23 at Lucasville, and Ohio 348 is reduced to one lane.
Although traffic is being maintained by temporary traffic signals, the department has arranged with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to operate additional traffic controls at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Ohio 348 to mitigate traffic flow and minimize delays as much as possible. As such, officers from the SHP post will operate traffic controls through signalization during peak travel times to and from the fairgrounds while the fair continues for the remainder of the week.
Bridge Overlay Systems, of Canfield, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $550,000 to repair the bridge, and the completion date is Oct. 31.
