Joe was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a school bus driver for Northwest Schools and was a former volunteer fireman for Rush
Township Squad 2. He was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jo Bending Prose, whom he married Jan. 19, 1958, at Lombardsville. He is also survived by a son, Randall Joseph Prose and his wife, Shelley, of Hebron, Conn.; a daughter, Paula J. Prose, of McDermott; three grandchildren, Alexandra J. Prose, Amanda J. Prose and Amber J. Prose; four brothers, Charles Prose and his wife, Margaret, of McDermott, Edward Prose and his wife, Sue, of Columbus, Walter Prose and his wife, Patricia, of McDermott, and Robert Prose and his wife, Judith, of West Portsmouth; two sisters, Rita Montavon, of McDermott, Jovita McBroom and her husband, Mac, of McDermott; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Prose and Donald Prose; and a sister, Clara Prose.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in McDermott, with Father David Young officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends may call at the F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Graveside military rites will be held by the Honor Detail of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
