Lughnasa celebration scheduled for July 27

The 7 Nations Celtic Club will kick off its 2008 St. Patrick's Day parade event planning with a Lughnasa celebration scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 p.m. July 27 at Port City Cafe and Pub, Chillicothe Street. Lughnasa is the traditional Celtic celebration of “First Fruits,” generally occurring in late July or early August, which commemorates the first harvest of the growing season. Our modern celebration is in honor of this ancient Celtic tradition.

The club event will feature hors d'ourves, including some made from authentic Celtic Lughnasa recipes, spirited beverages and live pub music performed inside by John Hogan and Friends. With any luck, a single piper will be outside to welcome all who enter. Proceeds to the club will be used in support of the 2008 St. Patrick's Day parade and other club activities. Club members will be present to explain the club's goals and objectives, and new members are encouraged to apply. All are invited to attend.
