She was born June 2, 1917, in Logan, W.Va., a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Melissa Adaline Roberts Reedy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Estil Chafens.
Surviving are sons, William Russell Chafens, Gary Lewis Chafens and Joseph Eugene “Gene” Chafens; daughter, Eva Carolyn Pezzullo; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky., with Dr. Kail Ruffner officiating and interment in Baker-McGinnis Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
