She was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late William Sylvester Lewis and Bessie Veach Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Morris Pittman.
She is survived by son, Clay Morris Pittman Jr.; four daughters, Nancy Faye Payne, Lyda Bess Steinmetz, Mary Elizabeth Stephens and Rebecca Sue Leasure; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at South Webster Baptist Church with Justin Grinstead, officiating and interment in South Webster Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at D.W. Davis Funeral Home in South Webster and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
