Lewis County's Backdraft took the $500 first prize.
The band is comprised of Steven Chinn on vocals/guitar, Cody Moore on guitar, Colton Halernson on drums and Jordon Logan on bass.
Wildcard, from West Portsmouth, took second and won $250.
That band features Scotty Sparks vocals, Matt Lester on lead guitar, Seth Weber on drums and Alec Cunningham on bass.
Taking $125 and third place was South Shore's Waiting for the Fall.
Waiting for the Fall features Chris Altman on vocals, Nate Bowling on guitar, Ryan Sprinkle on bass, Mike Pennington on guitar and Colt Roberts on drums.
Seven bands participated in the battle, which was for high school students.
“This was a great night for our young musicians,” resort manager Cary Lyle said. “The other four bands that participated were very good young musicians. We have a lot of talent in our young people and this was a great platform for them to show it off.”
The battle attracted more than 250 people, Lyle said.
“We had many folks come to Greenbo that have never been before and they all plan to come and see us again,” he said.
The event was at the park's new amphitheater.
The amphitheater opened on May 30. The band battle was not the first event in the theater, however, according to park staff.
Greenup County High School will present its version of Jesse Stuart's “The Thread that Runs so True” on June 9 at the amphitheater.
More plays and concerts are scheduled throughout the summer.
