He was born April 30, 1945, in Waverly, a son of Martha Emmiline Queen Reed and the late George Arthur Reed Jr.
Surviving also are his wife, Connie Lynn Russell Reed; son, Timothy L. Reed; daughter, Brenda S. Walls; four grandchildren; brothers, Thomas E. Reed and Richard E. Reed; sisters, Martha Jean Ramsey and Karen S. Hamilton.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Dale Reed officiating and interment in Omega Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
