He was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Adams County, a son of the late James and Beulah Mattingly Grooms. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Martha E. Grooms; sons, Keith Grooms and Ted Grooms; brother, Noel Kenneth Grooms; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private services will be Wednesday at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union with interment in West Union Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
