He was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Chillicothe, a son of the late Charles E. and Rose Hurles Dean. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Weaver Dean; sons, Chris Dean, Timothy Dean, William Dean and Brian Dean; daughters, Pamela Richards, Paula Horn and Peggy Dean; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with the Rev. Bruce Viar officiating and interment in Waverly Evergreen Union Cemetery with military graveside services by Merritt Post American Legion.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
