Ronald Ray Ward, 68, of Peebles, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at a Chillicothe hospital.

He was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Scioto County, a son of the late Herman M. and Dorothy Mae Griffith Ward. He was an Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Shoemaker Ward; sons, Rance, Brett and Dustin Ward; daughter, April Anderson; brothers, Herman Louis, Roger Glendon, Ralph Dean, Dallas Leo, John William, Eddie Elmer and Randall Robin Ward; sisters, Virginia Katherine Heavenridge, Linda Merle Mason, Arvena Sue Scott, Nancy Beekman and Auda Irene Herman; and five grandchildren

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Donald Houser officiating and interment in Gardner Cemetery with military graveside services by Merritt Post American Legion.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
