There will be food available at the fire station from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will include hot dogs, Sloppy Joes, chips, homemade desserts and drinks. Strawberry pies may be bought whole or by the piece. This event will be sponsored by the Fire Ladies Auxiliary to benefit the South Webster Bloom Township Fire and Rescue Service.
Amphitheater opening is May 29
Greenbo Lake State Resort Park will be hosting a ceremony to open its new amphitheater at 1 p.m. May 29. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with entertainment and food. The event is open to the public.
Visitors to the amphitheater, near the park's community pool, can bring lawn chairs and blankets. The amphitheater includes restrooms, concessions, dressing rooms and a covered stage.
Several events already are scheduled this year for the Greenbo amphitheater. They include a Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua presentation Friday; the Battle of the Bands June 6; and Greenup County High School's presentation of Jesse Stuart's “The Thread That Runs So True” June 9. More plays and concerts are scheduled throughout the summer.
Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is located just seven miles off of U.S. 23 in Greenup County, Ky.
SCJVS sets program orientation
Scioto County Joint Vocational School Adult Workforce Education Center will have computer service and repair program orientation at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Taylor Building, 951 Vern Riffe Drive, Lucasville.
The program will include MCSE Certification, Net+ Certification, Linux+ Certification, A+ Certification, HTML Certification, Externship Opportunities, Certification Fees included and tool kit included in class cost.
Evening classes and financial aid are available.
