The Scioto County Sheriff's Office received a complaint on Thursday from a woman who said her boyfriend had assaulted her.

According to reports, the woman advised that her boy-friend, David Collins, 25, of 8703 Ohio 139, Minford, had assaulted her by strangling.

She reportedly told officers they had been out drinking, and Collins had become upset by the side of the road. She said he began punching the windshield, and she threw the keys so he couldn't take the car.

She reportedly later regained control of the vehicle and attempted to drive away, when Collins jump-ed onto the hood of the vehicle and again began punching the windshield. He eventually fell off the car and the victim drove away.

Officers from the sheriff's office later found Collins bleeding, but said he refused treatment.

Collins was belligerent and using profanity at officers when they arrested him. After placing him inside their cruiser, they began to shut the door as Collins reportedly shoved his face toward it, accusing officers of trying to shut the door on his face.

In the back of the vehicle, Collins began hitting the window with his head in an attempt to break the glass.

Officers removed him from the vehicle and he was spitting at them as they ordered him to the ground. Collins refused to comply, and officers had to use force to bring him under control.

Collins was arrested and charged with domestic violence, vandalism and resisting arrest.
