GREENUP, Ky. - Get ready to rock, as Greenbo Lake State Resort Park hosts “Battle of the Bands” on Wednesday, June 6.

Starting at 6 p.m. at the amphitheatre, this event is a chance for bands to compete and showcase their talent.

Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st ($500), 2nd ($250) and 3rd ($125) places.

A panel of celebrity judges will determine winners and special guest emcee will be local musician Larry Pancake.

All band members either must be currently enrolled in high school or a member of the 2007 graduating class. Amps, drum set, microphones will be provided.

Bands should be prepared to play three to five songs; at least one should be an original. Profanity will not be permitted.

Band contacts will be notified at the end of May with the time of their performance and how many songs they will be playing.

A non-refundable registration fee of $25 per band is due with registration sheet May 19 at the Jesse Stuart Lodge, or may be mailed to: Battle of the Bands, 965 Lodge Road Greenup, Ky. 41144. Make checks or money orders payable to Greenbo Cultural Arts Committee (No cash please).

Registration forms may be picked up at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park or at Greenup County High School from Dave Deborde.
