He was born Jan. 20, 1928, in Scioto County, a son of the late Elza R. and Goldie Sparks Dever.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McDaniel Dever; daughters, Janet Dever-Dean and Judy Dever-Ledford; brother, Ray Dever; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Mark Baer officiating and interment in White Gravel Cemetery with military graveside rites by James Irwin Post American Legion.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
