He was born May 29, 1931, in Franklin, N.C., a son of the late Carl and Gussie Ledford Henson. He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Jan DeLong Henson; son, Carl Henson; daughters, Jesse Scott, Teresa Hollifield, Linda Kelley, Lisa Henson and Tina Ilano; brother, Doyle Henson; sister, Betty Sanders; seven stepchildren; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at C.M. Cemetery with military graveside services by Disabled American Veterans Chapter.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
