A Cincinnati man was arrested Monday and charged with numerous offenses following a fight at 14th and Waller streets, according to city police.
Vages D. Martin, 26, of 715 Clark St., was charged with two counts of assault, offenses involving counterfeit controlled substances, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct, failure to appear, public indecency and tampering with evidence.
Officer Julian Sommers was on patrol and said he saw Martin holding Jodi Ware by the neck and then hit her in the face with his forearm.
He reportedly let go of Ware when he saw Sommers.
Ware and another woman, identified only as Ms. Slack, said they were standing on the corner talking when Martin approached them and exposed his genitalia to them.
After the women told Martin to leave, he is accused of trying to grab Ware's breast, then shoved Slack and punched Ware in the face repeatedly.
Sommers arrested Martin and took him to the police station.
Police said Martin hid two small plastic bags with white powder under each seat of the police car he was in.
However, the powder tested negative for cocaine.
Martin's troubles at the station continued, as Sommers said he lied about his identity to conceal an arrest warrant from the Scioto County Sheriff's Department.
