The Scioto Foundation conducted the first - of what is expected to be an annual meeting - on Thursday to deliver its annual report, look ahead to the coming year and recognize community volunteers and donors.
The meeting began Thursday morning at the Scioto County Welcome Center on Second Street, with Scioto Foundation Chairman, Dr. Wayne Wheeler, delivering his report in review of 2006.
During 2006, the Foundation received 440 contributions in the amount of $2 million; awarded nearly $400,000 to arts and culture, community development, education, health and social service; and paid $620,000 in grants and scholarships.
