Shirley Marie Lute, 77, of Henley Comstock Rd., Otway, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on April 1, 1934, in Kansas City, KS, to the late Earl Lee and Irene Lenore Moore Saunders.

She was united in marriage on Sept. 11, 1953, to Ray B. Lute who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Thomas F. “Tami” Lute, and Jonathan D. “Roberta” Lute both of Otway, and David R. “Cathy” Lute of West Portsmouth; four daughters, Raylene Maloy, Cynthia Brewer, and Lori Ann “Jeremy” Bellamy all of Otway, and Kara Leigh “Lewy” Lute of Lucasville; 15 grandchildren, Beth, Heidi, Matthew, Justin, Christopher, Benjamin, Audrey, Rachal, Alexander, Christina, Andrew, Gage, Lewis, Kaylee, and Gavin; and 10 great grandchildren, Lillian, Isabella, Kaylee, Lucille, Audrina, Liam, Loralie, Kenzie, and Brady.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Ray Saunders and Richard Wayne Saunders; and a sister, Irene Leigh Wiggins.

Mrs. Lute was a retired cook from the Northwest School District, and attended various churches with her husband, Pastor Ray B. Lute including: McCullough Baptist, Mabert Road Baptist, Scioto Baptist, Rush Free Baptist, and the Otway Christian Union.

Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family with Pastors Albert Breech and George Vastine officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. There will be a celebration of life gathering at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lute residence.Arrangements are under the direction of Botkin Funeral Home in Otway.
