Bessie Fisher, 69

Bessie Jane Wolfenbarger Fisher, 69, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 14, 1937, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Charlie Wolfenbarger and Goldie Borders Wolfenbarger.

Surviving are daughter, Marilyn Fisher; brothers, Ralph and Paul Borders; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with the Rev. Darren Lore officiating an d interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Alvin Baker, 72

Alvin Sunny Baker, 72, of Winchester, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at a Batavia hospital.

He was born May 5, 1934, in Brookville, Ind., a son of the late Hobert and Dora Baker. He was a Army veteran.

Surviving are wife, Dorothy Baker; son, Rick Baker; daughters, Sandy Manning and Vickey Savage; brother, Pete Baker; sisters, Bea Hauke, Shirley DeBruller and Dotty Jean Ellis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union with Ray Woolridge and Pastor Bob Fyffe officiating and interment in Cherry Fork Cemetery with military graveside rites by Adams County Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Cleo Dalton, 83

Cleo K. Dalton, 83, of Bainbridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at a Columbus hospital.

She was born on May 11, 1923, in Pike County, a daughter of the late Thomas Sylvester and Hilda Grove Lambert. She was preceded in death by husband, Grady C. Dalton.

Surviving are son, Robert Parker; daughter, Betty Ward; stepson, George Dalton; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with the Rev. John Howser officiating and interment in Gardner Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Billy Watts, 69

Billy Ray Watts, 69, of Westwood, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007.

He was born July 1, 1937, in Westwood, Ky., a son of the late Otis and Cora Morgan Watts.

Surviving are brothers, James Earl Watts Sr., Woodrow Watts, Frank Watts and Roger Watts; and sisters, Lola Hazelwood, Betty Ferrell, Loretta Huff and Dottie Watts.

Graveside memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Dixon Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Funeral Home in Ashland, Ky.

Ellen Shipe, 83

Ellen Barnes Shipe, 83, of Waverly, died Feb. 14, 2007, at her residence.

She was born April 8, 1923, a daughter of the late Allen W. and Nellie F. Barnes.

Surviving are husband, William W. Shipe; son, Thomas A. Shipe; daughters, Teresa N. Gaums and Nancy Jones; sister, Nancy B. Hunter; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family with interment in Crestview Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly.

Margaret Oyer, 89

Margaret Alice Oyer, 89, of Waverly, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at a Chillicothe hospital.

She was born March 7, 1917, in Tella, Ky., a daughter of the late Lonnie Murray and Eliza Murray. She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Oyer.

Surviving are sons, August and Thomas Oyer; daughters, Margaret Scheiderer and Rita Perry; brother, Robert Murray; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mary Chapel United Baptist Church with Elder Arvil C. Murray officiating and interment in Evergreen Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly and from 10 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
