Tuesday
Westfall 49, Piketon 44
Piketon put up 23 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as Westfall held on for the victory.
Heather Burns led the Lady Redstreaks with 21 points, while Marissa Hill scored 11.
“We were ice cold for 2 1/2 quarters but snapped out of it in a big way,” said Piketon coach Libby Crothers. “Westfall was on fire in the beginning and we couldn't stop them. We were down by 17 at one point and close to that early in the fourth quarter. We had it down to three points or so in the last minute but missed some foul shots like we did the whole game. You don't win many basketball games shooting 4 for 19 from the foul line. But I am proud of our girls for not quitting when we fell far behind.”
