A Scioto County man wanted on several felony charges was arrested on Sunday after police found him hiding in a closet in a house off Beaver Pike in Pike County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Steven K. Angel, no address or age available, was wanted for assault on a police officer, several felony drug warrants and an unspecified warrant from Pike County.

OSHP troopers were checking leads on his whereabouts because of the drug warrants on Thursday.

Troopers reported during a conversation with a resident on Altman Road, Angel got into a car and drove at the troopers.

One trooper was hit by the driver's side of the vehicle and went partially through the window. Angel then sped off with the trooper's radio inside the vehicle. The trooper was not injured.

OSHP then searched for Angel the next four days before finally arresting him.

Working on tips, troopers searched several locations before pushing Angel toward the north side of the county.

The search ended when a tip led troopers to the house where Angel was arrested.

“A strong effort by a multitude of agencies and a great use of intelligence led to a peaceful conclusion when Steven was found hiding in the closet,” OSHP local commander Lt. Mike Crispen said.

Angel is being held at the Scioto County jail on charges from Pike and Scioto counties.
