Nevada M. Streby, 90, formerly of Chillicothe, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Fleming County, Ky., to the late Thomas A. and Lula Moulton McGlone.
She was preceded in death by husband, Rush M. Streby.
Surviving are sons, James P. Pitts and Gary L. Dilley; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Pratt.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home in Chillicothe, with Rev. Steven J. Schmidt officiating and interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Larue Jenkins, 75
Larue Jenkins, 75, of Beaver, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at her home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Salyersville, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ham Jenkins Jr.
Surviving are son, Paul Jenkins; daughter, Cynthia Helton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morganfork United Baptist Church with Elders Larry Blanton and Arvil Murray officiating and interment in Jenkins Family Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Patricia Whitely, 62
Patricia Anne Whitely, 62, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at an Ashland, Ky., hospice.
She was bon March 5, 1944, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clarice Browning Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Whitely.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton with the Rev. Lee Gussler officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton.
Lida Shumate, 98
Lida Shumate, 98, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at a Maysville, Ky., hospital.
She was born April 18, 1908, in Black Oak, Ky., a daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Clark Burriss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward O. Shumate.
Surviving are sisters, Ruth England, Willodean Green and Ada Warfel; one grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Maxine A. Buckle Turner, 83, of Portsmouth, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at the residence of her daughter.
She was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Everett Allen and Margaret “Sis” Walker Buckle.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Dever and Barbara Poole; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Turner.

Luther B. May, 94, of Elizabethtown, Ky., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at his residence.
He was born in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Newton and Ida Minor May. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys May.
He is survived by one daughter, Shirley Martin; brother, Clyde May; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was born July 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel Wilson Smith.

She was born March 2, 1910, in Grayson, Ky. to the late James M. Duty and Grace Rice Duty. Surviving are brother, Richard K. Duty, and a sister, E. Fontella Griffin.

Kitty Woolery, 41
Ann Katherine “Kitty” Woolery, 41, of San Fernando, Calif., a former Portsmouth resident, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at her home.
She was born Jan. 18, 1965, to the late Margaret Ann Hayes Woolery and Charles H. Woolery of Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
Surviving also are brothers, Michael, Sean Woolery Cary Woolery; children, Zech and Grayson Woolery; sister, Melissa Woolery.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
Betty Evans, 62
Betty Lou Evans, 62, of Crowe Hollow, Lucasville, died Dec. 4, 2006.
She was born June 17, 1944, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn Spillman Salyers.
She also was preceded in death by husband, Virgil Evans.
She is survived by daughters, Teresa Spencer, Tammy Brigner, Angela Rucker and Rhonda Ward; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Salyers and Kenneth “George” Salyers; sisters, Edna Duffer, Ruth Breech and Dorthy Wolfe.

She was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Hurricane, W.Va., a daughter of the late Orville Thomas and Minnie Inez Phelps Glenn.
