David Brown, age 44, of Beaver, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at a Beaver nursing home.
He was born April 17, 1962, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Donald and Berthie Horner Brown.
Surviving are brothers, Lee Roy Brown, John Paul Erwin and James Brown; and sister, Barbara Nicks, Rita Lewis, Allen and Jewel Erwin.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Haverhill Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville.
Dorothy Brown, 74
Dorothy J. Brown, 74, of Ironton, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at a Russell, Ky. hospital.
She was born Jan 22, 1932, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Richard Carr and Ruby Madge Sexton Allen.
Surviving are husband, Roy Brown; sons, Stephen Green and Terry Adams; daughters, Lisa Hensley, Jeri Riggie and Wanda Sue Gollihue; brother, Jerry Adkins; sisters, Wanda Early, Sammye Adkins, Janet Adkins, Vicki Brooks and Barbara Allen; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sugar Creek Cemetery with Pastor Danny Kelley officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton.
Flora Copas, 70
Flora Ellen Copas, 70, of Ashville, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, in a Columbus care center.
Flora was born March 20, 1936, in Portsmouth, to the late Forrest and Margaret Shopes Norman.
Flora is survived by sons, Richard Copas and Bryan Copas; daughters, Sandra Goddard and Elena Wiles; foster daughters, Toni Ellsworth and Tammy Pugh; brothers, Ronnie and Roger Norman; sisters, Judy Phipps, Ruth Robinson, Sharon White, Dianne Cain and Shirley Bear; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with George Vastine officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
James Ketter, 80
James Edward Ketter, 80, of Lucasville, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, in a Minford nursing home.
He was born April 7, 1926, in Portsmouth, a son of the late William and Aileen Weidner Ketter.
He was preceded in death by wife, Bessie Young Ketter.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are brothers, Robert L. “Bob” Ketter and David L. Ketter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with the Rev. David Cottrill officiating and interment in Lucasville Cemetery with military graveside rites by William A. Baker Post American Legion. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
