New Boston got a strong performance from Kayla Wiley to open its season with a 46-37 over Piketon in the Paint Valley Shootout.
Wiley scored 14 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out two assists and had three steals in the win. Tasha Buckley added 10 points for the Lady Tigers, and Katie Williams grabbed seven rebounds.
“It was a good season opener,” said Lady Tigers coach Rachel Coriell. “The girls played hard. We struggled in the third, losing the lead after scoring two points, but we came back out in the fourth quarter and took the lead back.”
