New Boston Fire Department is flushing hydrants from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. todAY and will continue until all are completed.

East Madrigals to have dinner theater

East High School Madrigals will have its dinner theater at 6 p. m. Saturday at East High School, 224 Marshall Ave., Sciotoville.

Tickets can be purchased for $12 by calling the East High School vocal department at (740) 776-7692 during school hours or may be purchased at the door the night of the performance on a first come basis.

Thanksgiving dinner Saturday in Rarden

Rarden Community Center's Thanksgiving Dinner will start at noon Saturday. Cost will be $5.

Proceeds will benefit the gym restoration. For local delivery, call (740) 372-6212.

Cornhole tournament Sunday in Rarden

A Michael Orban Memorial Benefit will begin at noon Sunday at Rarden Senior Citizens Center. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, bake sale, auction at 2 p.m., and cornhole tournament with registration at noon.

Middle school has Cornhole tournament,/b>

Cornhole tournament for students and adults will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wellston Middle School gymnasium in Wellston. Competition will begin at 11 a.m. Entry fees for students will be $15 a pair and $25 a pair for students. Admission will be $1 for students and $3 for adults.

Proceeds will go toward the choir's trip to New York to participate in the competition at the Heritage Festivals.

Marion Township has Thanksgiving dinner

The fourth annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Marion Township Community and Youth Center, 57 Ohio 335, Stockdale.

Area will honor veterans on Saturday

Vietnam War veteran Wendell Skinner will be the featured speaker at Saturday's Veteran's Service Commission Veteran's Day ceremony at Tracy Park.

The service will begin at about 10:30 a.m.

That won't be the only program in the park that day, however. The Brothers of the Wheel Motorcycle Club will have a service at 2:30 p.m.

Also, the Greenup County (Ky.) War Memorial Committee will host a service on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the War Memorial Park on U.S. 23 near Wurtland, Ky.

Sgt. Dennis Conley from the 1191st Engineering Company, U.S. Army Reserves, will be the guest speaker. Conley is a South Shore, Ky., resident who recently served in Iraq.
