A Thursday night accident escalated into two separate accidents, sending one Portsmouth teenager to the hospital last week.

According to police reports, Lori Adams, 36, of Dutch Ridge Road, in Portsmouth, was stopped in traffic in the 4800 block of U.S. 52 in a 2004 Pontiac Montana. She was reportedly hit from behind by a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, being driven by Jason Reed, 33, of Wheelersburg. No injuries were reported in the crash.

While stopped in traffic at the scene of the accident minutes later, however, Reed's car was involved in another accident. His vehicle was reportedly hit in the back by a 1999 Chrysler 300, being operated by Leonard Ramey, 87, of Portsmouth, after Ramey's vehicle was pushed into Reed's vehicle when a 2001 Ford Focus driven by a female juvenile, 17, of Portsmouth collided with the back of Ramey's vehicle.

Ramey was stopped in traffic behind the accident, when the juvenile hit him from behind, pushing him into Reed's vehicle.

The juvenile was transported for her injuries to Southern Ohio Medical Center where she was treated and released.
