The scouts, from the northeastern Kentucky area, will be camping at the park's primitive camping area and will be taking part in a nine-mile hike on a trail named for Michael Tygart, an early Kentucky explorer.

The moderately easy trek leads past a mid-19th century iron furnace, historic cemetery and iron ore pits, descends in to Pruitt Fork Valley, site of some pioneer homes, and winds up along the scenic lakeshore.
