I'm writing in regards to Dr. M.E. Martin's letter that ran July 12, 2006, in Letters To The Editor. First, you say you're tired of reading Dr. Gott's column. Second, he's telling patients to stop taking Fosamax because of side effects.

You're tired of Dr. Gott, because he gives out FREE services. He let's us know that others have had luck with some of the home remedies.

On May 14, 2006, his column was based on information out of the Wall Street Journal, on stopping the use of Fosamax. Have you been watching all the warnings on T.V.? Apparently you don't believe in the Wall Street Journal, and the Journal of Nutrition or any medical journal.

I'm 70 years old, and I have never had a doctor tell me information on any side effects on medication. If you get any information, it comes from the pharmacist. It is hard to even get back the lab test answers from the doctor's office. So you're saying, that if the medication harms you, it's not your physicians fault?

I like Dr. Gott, and I think he is helping people. He has helped me a lot.

What did you think of the July 13, 2006, column on doctor's fees for scheduled and follow-up appointments? Even when there's nothing wrong. Doesn't this cost Medicare and Healthcare insurance?
