My son and I enjoy our frequent trips to PRP, which is a great place for the entire family. I have never quite understood why the Portsmouth Daily Times is never there covering the events. I know that I have really wished on Sundays that I could pick up the paper and read the results of the previous night's race because I wasn't able to attend.
A request for the PDT: please start covering these races. It is a wonderful event that happens right here in our own backyards and yes, on the weekend of the July 4th races, there were many out-of-towners here in the Portsmouth area, staying, eating and shopping, as Mr. Shaw said. More advertising means more benefits, not only for PRP, but for the surrounding area!
Many people complain there is nothing to do here in the immediate area; well, they apparently haven't been to PRP. Want a safe and fun place to take the family? Go to PRP on Saturday night and find out what you've been missing. It's not just enjoyable for the kids to watch the cars racing, but the drivers are wonderful with the kids. With a pit pass you can get autographs and photographs of the drivers and a memorable meeting between drivers and their fans.
