Cruise-in is planned at Greenbo resort

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park in Greenup County, Ky., will have a cruise-in from 5 to 9 p.m. July 22 at the community pool parking lot. This event is for antique cars, “muscle cars” or any other kind of vehicle that people would like to show off.

Registration is free and T-shirts and dash plaques will be given to the owners of the first 50 cars that enter. There will be other prizes for those who register, including awards to the top three cars selected by visitors.

There also will be activities for children, raffle contests and concessions.

Registration will start at 3 p.m. The park's community pool opens at 10 a.m. This is a family event; no alcohol is permitted.

Kuhn to discuss identity theft

Mark Kuhn, Scioto County prosecutor, will speak at 7 p.m. July 20 in the activity Room at Heartland of Portsmouth. His topic will be “Identity Theft and Fraud on the Elderly.” The discussion is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Heartland is located at 20 Easter Drive off U.S. 23 at the Clay Overpass.

Ohio EPA takes water samples

Ohio EPA will begin collecting water samples in the Scioto Brush Creek Watershed to gather information that will be part of a plan to maintain and, where necessary, restore water quality of the creek and its tributaries.

The sampling will be conducted approximately mid-July through October. Samples will be collected in Adams and Scioto counties.

Morgan trustees plan budget meeting

The budget for Morgan Township for the year ending Dec. 31, 2007, is ready for viewing. Call the clerk's office for an appointment. A budget meeting will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center.
