Calvary Baptist hosts conference

The Calvary Baptist Church, 1118 Hutchins St., will host the Calvary Bible Conference at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday to Wednesday.

The theme of the meeting will be “Called to Glory and Virtue.” The main speaker will be Terry Cruse, from Monroe, N.C.

Special speakers will be Pastor Dan Wolvin, of Columbus, Kirk Kirkland, of Dayton, and Bill Lystlund, of Powell, Tenn. Special music will be provided by the Calvary Baptist Church Choir, Kirkland and Lystlund, and the favorites of the Calvary Baptist Family.

Spring Jubilee begins Monday

The 10th annual Spring Jubilee will be at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Scioto County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds Road, Lucasville. Calvin Ray Evans is the host evangelist. Guest singers will be the McKameys on Monday, Ricky Atkinson and Compassion on Tuesday, the Collingsworth Family on Wednesday, Billy Fields on Thursday and the Hayes Family on Friday.

The Jubilee Choir will be singing each night. Anyone wanting to sing in the choir can come to rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. in the building next to the Jubilee.

The services are indoors and will be conducted rain or shine. There is plenty of handicap parking close to the building. There is no admission charge. RV sites are available for a nominal fee.

Day services will be at 10:30 a.m. featuring local pastors speaking and the Koenig Family from Blue Creek singing.

This Jubilee is dedicated in memory of Dr. Calvin Evans, founder of Evangelistic Outreach Ministries, who passed away recently.

Youthfest is set for May 20

Bringing a Message Youthfest will begin at 3 p.m. May 20 at the South Portsmouth (Ky.) Church of God amphitheater located at the foot of the Carl Perkins Bridge.
